Magic of the Pyrenees FAQ's

Q. Is it good value for money?

Cheap at the price. The price falls in the lower to mid range for French tours for 21 day all inclusive. On this tour you get the wealth of workshops etc as well.

Q. Are there any "hidden" costs associated with the tour?

As stated in the advertising all meals and admissions etc are covered.
You will need to pay for: morning and afternoon teas for the day trips.
Lunch on pick-up and departure days.

Recommended personal spending money to bring:
Approximately Euro 150

This will cover morning and afternoon teas and other personal foodies like the yummy French chocolate!!

Q. Are there ATMs where I can get Euros?

There is an international cash machine in Gavarnie Village .

Q. Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes, for 12 years and over, but you would need to take complete responsibility for the children at all times as there are no special events for children or childcare. You would also need to be aware that the focus is for adults, for some children this would be fine and for others not. There is certainly plenty of scope for family activities walking and exploring.

Q. Will I be able to contact my family whilst in the Pyrenees?

The Gavarnie village has pay phones and cell phone coverage and we will visit an email cafe at least once. We do suggest that you make arrangements so that you are free to enjoy the three weeks and not trying to contact home on a regular basis. Previous tour members have found trying to make regular contact with home an invasion and time consuming.

Q. Do I need to be able to speak French?

No, not necessary for the tour although it may come in handy during the day trips. Some group facilitators are able to act as interpreters.

Q. Do I need to have an international driver’s license?

Not for the tour, but will be required if you intend to do independent travelling.

Q. Do I need to be very fit?

It would be helpful to be fit enough to be able to walk for a couple of hours, with stops.

Toulouse is a very busy commercial centre and you need to book in advance for Monday to Thursday bookings. The weekend is easier and often cheaper.
